To avoid e-wallet fraud when sending money online, follow these tips:
1. Only buy on trusted websites.
Don’t make payments in unverified online shops or on social media, and don’t send money to strangers’ accounts.
2. Never tell anyone your password.
Even if the caller claims to be from a bank or payment system, never read out secret details.
3. Use different passwords for different accounts.
They should combine letters, numbers and symbols. Change them often.
4. Turn on two-factor authentication.
Even if a scammer learns your password, they won’t get access without the second authentication factor.
